A year later I had the pleasure of re-visiting the Crab Apple in its home in London. What cannot be replicated when creating deadwood and applying deadwood effetcs is the natural weathering and ageing of the wood that only comes with time.

After a year of being exposed to rain, sun and frosts, the wood and the stain that was applied to it, has begun to age and weather and has taken on an entirely natural appearance. However, the wood-hardeners that were applied to the deadwood have ensured that there is no rot and decay.
